Is It Legal To Vape In Greece?

Vaping is legal in Greece, with the same restrictions on what you can buy and where you can vape as there are here in the UK.

Vaping in Greece is accepted and not considered illegal, and the sale of vape products such as nicotine e-liquid and vape devices are allowed in specialist vape shops, tobacconists and also some convenience stores and supermarkets.

The legal age to use and purchase e-cigarettes and e-liquids is 18 years or older.

Can I Bring Disposable Vapes To Greece?

Yes, there are currently no regulations or restrictions on disposable vapes in Greece.

Greece are fairly relaxed when it comes to disposable vapes, and they're available to buy in the shops we mentioned above and you're also permitted to take them into the country with you as well. 

Can You Vape At Airports in Greece?

Greece are relatively strict with vaping at airports.

Greece appear to be one of the stricter countries in Europe when it comes to vaping at the airport before your flight. 

Rhodes and Athens airports both do not have any designated smoking or vaping areas once you are through security and passport control. 

Bare this in mind if you're flying back from one of these airports and make sure you have a vape before you enter into the terminal building as it'll be the other side once you've landed once you can vape again. 

There is no vaping permitted within the open space of the terminal buildings at any time.

Vape Regulations in Greece

Greece adhere to the TPD regulations, but they also have imposed a tax on vape liquids.

Greece follow the same regulations set out in TPD like other countries in the European Union, which are;

• E-Liquids cannot excdeed 20mg nicotine strength
• E-Liquids that contain nicotine must not be sold in bottles larger than 10ml
• Refillable Vape Tanks/Disposable Vapes must not exceed 2ml total vape juice capacity

Greece have however, imposed a taxation on vape liquids which could impact on how much vape juice you want to take with you on your travels. 

Greece were one of the first countries to impose a duty tax onto bottles of vape liquid in 2017. The rate is 0.10 cents per ml, so that's an extra 1 Euro per bottle tax on top of the normal costs. This is a rate that has not increased over the years, unlike others we've spoken about such as Germany and Italy which have increased year on year.

Where Can You Buy Vapes In Greece?

Greece has a wide range of vape shops that sell everything you need for vaping whilst you're there. Vapes are also available in tobacconists and convenience stores.

Greece appears to have a good amount of vape shops spread across the country on different islands situated in Greece.

There are the usual restrictions in place under TPD guidelines such as 20mg being the highest nicotine strength available as well as vape tanks and vape pods not being bigger than 2ml capacity. 

The shops we mentioned sell a vast range of coils and pods for the top brands of vape devices, so if you do run into a problem with your vape, you should be able to get it sorted at one of these shops!

Greece are one of the most relaxed countries in Europe when it comes to where you can vape.

From our research, it appears that vaping is fairly big in Greece and is acceptable in a lot of public areas where it's otherwise not in other countries in Europe.
