What E-Liquids Taste Like Disposable Vapes?
Disposable vapes have been the go to vape device for a lot of adult vapers in the UK for the past two years. Whilst they offer a convenient, no hassle approach to vaping due to the fact they don't require any type of maintenance to keep up with like changing coils or refilling with vape juice, they do work out a very expensive way to vape.
On top of this, they're also set to be banned from sale in the UK in June 2025, a mere matter of weeks away! You might be a disposable vape user and wanting to find the best alternatives to disposable vapes which you can use once they are banned.
We take a look at what e-liquids taste like disposable vapes and how you can continue to vape long past the disposable vape ban date with a refillable vape kit and EDGE Liq Nic Salts!
The Expensive Cost Of Using Disposable Vapes
As we said above in the heading of this blog, disposable vapes are a convenient way to vape but the cost of consistently using disposables as your sole vaping device can soon add up to some very expensive figures!
An average single use disposable vape like an Elf Bar or Lost Mary BM600 comes prefilled with 2ml of e-liquid alongside a small pre charged 280mah battery. These are factory sealed units and do not offer any form of recharging capabilities nor are they refillable.
Once either the e-liquid runs out or the battery power runs out, the device is then rendered useless and this is when it's disposed of...hence the name disposable vape! The average cost of a disposable like the aforementioned is around £6 per device. So to put it in basic terms, you're effectively paying £6 for 2ml of e-liquid! And if you're a frequent user of your disposable vape, chances are the e-liquid and/or the battery isn't going to last you much longer than one day.
So you're going to be spending £6 every day or every other day at least just on disposable vapes totalling at least £30 every week which works out to be a costly way to vape and also counter-intuitive due to vaping being significantly cheaper than the cost of smoking.
Even if you choose to use the "big puff" disposable vapes, these are an even higher costing at £12-£15 per device and you still only get 8-10ml of e-liquid in the individual pods that come with it.
But the days of disposable vapes being sold in the UK is rapidly coming to an end as we continue below.
Preparing For The Disposable Vape Ban

Announced late last year (2024) by new UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, disposable vapes are set to be banned from sale in the UK as of June 1st 2025. From this date, it will be illegal for businesses to sell or supply, offer to sell or supply, or have in their possession for sale or supply all single-use or ‘disposable’ vapes.
This was a long time coming as plans to enact this ban were first introduced by former PM Rishi Sunak as part of his "Stopping The Start" campaign and this was carried forward by the new Labour Government which took control of the UK when the election took place.
As with most bans, there is a grace period for shops to sell through remaining stock and we are currently in that period, with it coming to an end as of June 1st this year. At the time of writing this, it's almost six weeks away which really isn't long in the grand scheme of things!
You might be wondering how you're going to be able to continue to vape once disposable vapes are banned, but fear not as there's many ways you can prepare yourself for the impending disposable vape ban.
There's a few things to carefully consider when finding an alternative as we will explain below in the next section of this blog.
What To Consider When Finding A Disposable Vape Alternative
Finding an alternative for disposable vapes really isn't as stressful as it may feel like on the surface. There are plenty of good quality and well performing vape kits which outshine the normal performance of a disposable vape and there's plenty to choose from when it comes to vape juice as well, as there's many like for like flavours out there to choose from and they're available for a fraction of the cost of a disposable vape!
There are some factors to consider when choosing the best alternative for disposable vapes and we'll break down some of the key things you need to consider when finding the best alternative to disposable vapes.
-
Choosing The Right Vape Kit To Use
As we mentioned above, disposable vapes are powered by a small 280mah battery, meaning the overall wattage output is not that high, normally around 8-10 watts. When choosing your alternative vape kit, you'll only need something simple to use and uses higher ohm coils, either in the device or the replaceable and refillable pods that are used inside the device. We would recommend a device like the Sonder Q2 or Gotek X.
-
Choosing The Right Flavour E-Liquid
Disposable vapes are notorious for their delicious and tempting flavour concoctions of the vape juice used inside each disposable vape. Some people will tend to stick to one flavour in their disposable, whilst some may choose to experiment. You'll want to find a vape juice flavour as close to what your favourite was in disposables, as this will provide a seamless transition to using a vape kit as you'll be getting the same if not better flavour!
-
Choosing The Right Nicotine Strength
The vape juice which is in disposable vapes is commonly nicotine salt vape juice with a set nicotine strength of 20mg, although some brands will offer their disposables at lower nicotine strengths such as 10mg or even 0mg/nicotine free. When looking for a replacement vape juice for your previously used disposables, make sure you find the right nicotine strength so that it provides a smooth transition from disposables.
What E-Liquids Taste Like Disposable Vapes?
According to data from surveys, the thing which keeps people using disposable is the wide and seemingly endless varities of flavours of the nic salt vape juice which is housed inside each disposable vape device. With extravagant fruity blends like Strawberry and Watermelon or Lemon & Lime or the more out there unique flavours like Blue Razz Lemonade or just the simplistic stand alone fruit flavours with an icy cool finish like Watermelon Ice to choose from, it's no surprise that people are craving more of these delicious flavour e-liquids.
