EDGE E-Liquids To Be Sold Without Cartons
EDGE customers will be very used to seeing products like our Core range of e-liquid in cartons both when receiving their online vape-mail and when buying in retail locations across the UK. We’ve stuck with this formula since we launched the EDGE brand in 2017, but now in 2024 we have decided to make a change to reduce the environmental impact of our operations – EDGE e-liquids will be sold without cartons going forward.
What Does This Mean For EDGE Customers?
Over the coming weeks, we will be phasing out cartons for our 10ml EDGE e-liquids. This means that your order may arrive in a slightly different format than you are used to.
Instead of being in their usual cardboard cartons, you will receive the 10ml bottles 'loose'. This in no way represents a reduction in the quality of our products themselves, this is simply a decision we have made to help reduce our carbon footprint as a business by removing unnecessary packaging.
We are not changing recipes, ingredients or any other aspect of our e-liquids, this change only affects packaging.
All the same safety information including ingredients, warnings and allergens etc will still be present on the label of the 10ml e-liquids you purchase, ensuring total compliance with UK safety regulations according to TPD/TRPR as well as ensuring you have access to all the information you need to vape safely.
Why Are We Stopping Using Cartons For EDGE E-Liquids?
The reason is simple - we are trying to reduce our carbon footprint. With some simple tweaks to our label design, we can include all the same critical information normally displayed on our cartons. By making this change we can drastically reduce the amount of cardboard we use as a business.
If you didn't already know, EDGE vaping has a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Policy. This policy lays out our ongoing commitment to our customers, our staff, the environment and more, as we strive to be the best example of a conscious vaping brand that is driven by more than just money.
The vaping industry has fallen afoul of several environmental red flags over the years, most recently and possibly most impactfully with the rise of disposable vapes. Our decision to not sell these single-use vapes follows the same reasoning we now apply to our cartons - we don't want to contribute to a growing issue surrounding vape waste.
Which EDGE E-Liquid Ranges Will Be Affected?
The change will apply to our 10ml EDGE ranges being sold online only (ranges in stores will remain in cartons for now), including:
- EDGE Elite 50-50 & HVG Freebase E-Liquid (will be the last to roll-out)
- EDGE Core 50-50 Freebase E-Liquid
- EDGE Bar Salts Nic Salt Vape Liquid
Other vaping products like pre-filled EDGE Go pods will still be in cartons due to being smaller and unable to carry a label showing the necessary safety information.
When Can You Expect The Change?
We will be rolling out the switch to uncartoned stock over the next few weeks starting from 01/07/24 - this means current orders will still likely come in cartons until we have sold through the remaining stock.
Some flavours sell faster than others, so you may find that some of your order comes in a carton, while other bottles do not, we thank you for your patience with this until the transition is complete.
Child Safe Mechanism On Our Bottles Explained
You may find when you receive your bottles of e-liquid that the bottom ring part of the cap is loose on your bottle and not connected to the bottle lid.
This is perfectly normal and it's actually part of the child safe mechanism which every one of our bottles has and has had for many years. The ring is there for the top cap of the bottle to be pushed down and locked into and then you are able to remove the bottle lid.
Rest assured that your bottles have not been tampered with, the loose ring is simply part of the child safe design which is on all of our bottles.
